Competency Australia's latest group of signalling trainees have recently commenced their studies in UEE41211 - Certificate IV in Electrical - Rail Signalling. This nationally recognised qualification provides signal electricians and signal technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to start their careers.
Having completed the induction course, introductory signalling principles, and modules in installation and power supplies, over the next 15 months the group will study all aspects of railway signalling. Future modules include cable jointing, points, train detection, signals, train protection equipment, level crossings, relay interlockings and computer based interlockings (CBI) systems as well as telemetry systems, testing, fault finding and signal safeworking.
